The Associate position at 90 West is an exciting opportunity for an emerging professional to contribute to a dynamic, creative, and growing team that is passionate about helping organizations tell their stories and achieve greater impact. The Associate will report directly to the firm’s Vice Presidents and play an integral role across 90 West’s business areas, including: media relations and crisis communications, message development and training, community relations and ecosystem engagement, content strategy and cross-platform storytelling, and policy and political research.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the 90 West team to develop and execute relevant, effective communications strategies on behalf of clients;

• Support project management for client needs, as assigned, including coordinating regular communication with clients and 90 West team members, responding to client requests/questions, supporting timely production of high-quality client deliverables;

• Create initial drafts of written materials and deliverables—including op-eds, press releases, media advisories, letters to the editor, newsletters, digital toolkits, and talking points;

• Lead key day-to-day client deliverables, including media clips, press lists, and social media content;

• Participate in regular client meetings and calls and actively contribute to client strategy discussions;

• Monitor and research current news, trends, and conversations to identify opportunities for client engagement; and,

• Other responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years experience working in a professional setting, experience in communications or a related field preferred;

• Excellent writing skills with an emphasis on drafting and editing press releases, op-eds, talking points, social media posts, and other written content on short deadlines;

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows productively;

• Experience in and strong understanding of managing multiple social media channels, scheduling platforms, and basic analytics;

• Must excel working independently as well as in collaboration with team members and clients; and,

• Interest in media, current events, and conversions, and passionate about helping mission-driven organizations.

Compensation: This full-time position offers a salary range of $50-$60K commensurate with experience, and access to all 90 West company benefits including health care, dental, and 401k. Employee is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
